7 - Special Prohibitions on Traffic
The King or those authorized by him may prohibit certain groups of vehicles. The prohibition may be limited to specific roads or periods of time. It can also apply to specific groups of road users.
Temporary measures can be taken to prohibit all traffic or regulate traffic on a road if conditions on the road or in its surroundings, road work, or the road's condition require it. Such decisions are made by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration for national and county roads, and by the municipality for local roads.
The Norwegian Public Roads Administration may, by regulation, set provisions that transport of certain types of hazardous goods is only permitted on specific roads, at specific times, or under other special conditions.
