1 - Scope of the Act

This Act applies to all traffic with motor vehicles. It also applies to other movement, but only on roads or areas where there is general motor vehicle traffic.

Traffic or movement in this Act also includes being present on roads or areas where motor vehicles are commonly driven.

The King may decide that the law, either in whole or in part, shall apply to other areas or that it shall not apply to such areas.

For Svalbard and Jan Mayen, the law applies with changes as the King may determine due to local conditions.
